IBMATA

The International Border Management and Technologies Association (IBMATA) is a not-for-profit international non-governmental organisation (NGO) committed to the safe and secure movement of people and goods across international borders. It is our aim is to support the facilitation of safe and secure movement of people and goods – and to prevent the non-compliant and harmful movement of people and goods – across international borders, by promoting best practice in border management principles and the intelligent use of new and emerging technology.

We do this by providing a platform for communication and collaboration between international governments, border agencies and intergovernmental organisations, non-government organisations, as well as international transportation agencies, ports, airports, and technology suppliers. The volume of goods and people crossing our borders is increasing year on year, as is the pressure on our border agencies. From facilitation to managing the threats posed by irregular migration, international organised crime, smuggling, trafficking and terrorism the need to collaborate has never been greater.
